To meet the basic qualification for this role, you must have a bachelor’s degree and a portfolio of your work. In addition, to be a good fit for the Marketing Communications Manager opportunity, you will have:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in the related area as an individual contributor
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills (writing portfolio required) 
  • Marketing plan development experience required
  • Sales tool development experience required
  • Demonstrated project management skills (marketing project/asset portfolio required)
  • Proven lead generation expertise that resulted in ROI
  • Extensive knowledge of the marketing function and department processes
  • Strong computer and software skills including:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
    • Marketing Automation software (Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua or similar)
    • Salesforce is highly preferred
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel as needed for trade shows, to visit both business units, dealers, attend meetings, etc.

Currently, we're working a mix of in-office and remote, but expect that we will be returning to the office full time in short order. You will work at our Novi, MI location and travel to Charlotte, MI and Bristol, IN approximately twice per month. As an essential business, we have strong protocols in place protecting our employees and safeguarding their health.

Reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing integrated marketing communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization, its products and services, and its broad benefits to both internal and external audiences. 

As Marketing Communications Manager, you will lead and direct the work of a growing Marketing Services team, currently including four direct reports (an events manager, social media specialist, graphic designer, and a web intern), indirect reports, and external production vendors and partners including, but not limited to, writers, graphic designers, social media experts, brand ambassadors, events personnel, promotions vendors, and video editors, with whom you'll build relationships and rapport. In collaboration with the group, you will create, tactically execute, and measure and improve the effectiveness of the integrated marketing and communications strategy for the Company and its go-to-market brands in alignment with business unit priorities. Additionally, you will:
  • Manage the research and development of content for product-related communications.
  • Create and manage informative and timely content for dissemination to internal and external audiences.
  • Take active responsibility in facilitating major tradeshows and events while providing leadership and direction to event coordinator(s) who manage the remaining event schedule. 
  • Work hand-in-hand with segment marketing managers to manage resources to budgets.
  • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.
  • Manage the Marketing Services team and ensure productivity.
  • Plan for and execute integrated marketing tactics – both traditional and digital, both paid and earned – to help ensure audience engagement and ROI.
  • Help identify the most effective communication channels to reach relevant target groups and help to feed these channels with the appropriate messaging.
  • Strategize and implement campaigns leveraging both traditional (collateral, print advertising, direct mail, etc.) and digital (email, web, social, search, etc.).
  • Be responsible for monitoring program success, ROI analytics, and reporting to appropriate segment marketing managers, product marketing managers, and other organizational stakeholders. 
  • Actively solicit relevant input from customers and the sales organization to develop new and vibrant marketing collateral.
