More About Your Role
Each shift, you will oversee workflow, which is based on work orders and lead times, including
hot orders which will require breaking into the line to produce something urgently. You'll coach and motivate the team, ensuring a safety-first culture, driving change -- we have a good deal of new equipment, both manual and automatic (e.g. tool planes, fiber lasers, brake presses, heart shaping, milling and other machines), and new processes to accommodate our strong growth. You will also leverage lean principles to chase waste and drive transparency. As a leader, you'll both motivate and manage, ensuring quality and accountability while also empowering team members to own their roles and excel. Specific duties will be to:
- Plan, organize, and direct production and indirect activities to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner
- Forecast staffing needs to meet the demands of the business and staff team accordingly
- Design, develop and implement processes that increase yield and/or improve quality
- Perform workflow analysis and develop methods for the production team
- Coordinate with managers and supervisors to establish production and quality control standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes, procedures, and programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability
- Implement and maintain OSHA and company programs and standards
- Ensure employees and managers have the required safety training and are consistently working in a safe manner; develop and implement safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries
- Work with managers to address organizational needs, equipment utilization and maintenance
- Lead, communicate, and coach to cultivate a motivated associate environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership
- Ensure operational supplies are always on hand and available
- Prepare all required reports and correspondence
- Develop, implement, and monitor department budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
- Stay up to date on overall activities of the team, identify problem areas and take corrective actions
- Communicate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, Eales, etc.) to resolve issues
- Work in close proximity with customers, as needed
- Solve complex problems with minimal assistance

You will supervise the night shift, working Monday through Friday from 6 PM to 2:30 AM, and can expect to work before and after the shift to ensure a strong shift to shift transition. Additionally, you should be flexible to work Saturdays and occasional Sundays, as required. This is an exempt position, although you will earn straight time after 45 hours per work.
